Quaint little gem here on Broadway. Staff is friendly and greet you when you walk in, and the food is awesome. Bathrooms are probably 7/10 on cleanliness and upkeep. All-in-all a great experience. And I will be visiting again. The full house during the lunch hour doesn't lie. Come hungry if you want to tackle the "Serious" sandwich!

LOVE LOVE LOVE their sandwiches. The Serious is unique and so good. The turkey sandwich is no ordinary turkey sandwich, I crave it weekly. Bread is always fresh. By far the best sandwich shop!

Visited for the first time today. I recommend the "serious " sandwich!! The pressed bread was on point. The decor fits perfectly with the food. My pet peeve is when most restaurants call out an order number, it isn't hear, but here the mic makes sure you hear your order. I will definitely be back soon!

This is probably the best local sub place in town. The serious sandwich is killer and so is the Italian. We get orders to-go often for lunch at the office and they are always very helpful with making sure we get everything. You can get gallons of sweet or unsweet tea. They'll help pack everything in a box for you. If you are eating in they'll give you little mini cups of beans with your normal sandwich in place of your pickle spear. The serious sandwich comes with a spear.

Great food and quick service if it's not too crowded. Don't bring a large group because you may have to sit separately.

Best Italian sandwich shop ever! It's a 2nd generation owned family business with a super loyal customer base. I've been eating there for 30+ years. Get it. Best meatball sandwich I've ever had. The "Halfa Serious" is also awesome.

I feel like a changed man. I had the Italian bc I didn't know what I wanted. I was in sandwich heaven. Every bite was like the first and I can't get over the fact I've been in SA for 4 years and hadn't tried Zitos until today. God bless this gem and I'll be back.

Nice local deli with a simple but delicious menu. Sandwiches are generously proportioned for the price. They have seating inside if you wish with super nice staff!

Ive been coming here since I was in HS...so 25+ years. The serious sandwich is a crowd pleaser, but one wont be discouraged by ordering another sandwich. They are all extremely good. Its well worth ones time to come check out the flavors here. Place is spot on. I hope to eat here for many more years to come.👍

Zito's is always reliably delicious. Their salads, soups and sandwiches are all DELICIOUS. The "Serious" sandwich is AMAZING!

This place is a hidden Gem!!! Staff treats you like family and takes the time to make it right!!! This was our first time here and we will come back just because of the great service! With that said, The food here is amazing!!! Come here hungry and leave fully satisfied.

Excellent selection of sandwiches. Loved the wheat crust. Business is very good as seen the day we went for lunch. All tables full, orders being filled and broadcast as done. Ordered and waited hungrily for our food. Very worth the wait. Pleasant staff. Believe their hours are 10am-4pm So get there before supper time. Enjoy.

Love this place, but in the past I would have given a full 5 stars, but dining room cleanliness has been lacking. The kitchen and sandwich prep area is great, but all of the tables and dining area are usually not very clean, and everything you touch has a slimey film. The napkin holders are usually empty and chairs and floors under tables have food on them from the previous guest. Last few times I've been, there is only one person responsible for bussing all the tables and upkeep of all of this. Not easy considering how busy this place can get during lunch. It can be hard to find a table.

Awesome serious sandwich and best beans in the state

I had just a basic ham and cheese sandwich but it was so good. They said it was provolone cheese but I have never had provolone that was that good before.

Had the half a serious sandwich and it was amazing. Couldn't finish it though. I liked the macaroni salad too. I didn't try the deserts but they had a large selection and they looked yummy.

Unbelievably good. I never thought a sandwich could be that great. All of the ingredients and sides are fresh and tasty but, as with any sandwich, it's all about the bread. Crispy outside, tender inside, and the perfect size.You can tell that the people eating here bring their kids and grandkids because it is so special!

Had another work lunch. Coworker took us to this place and it was a great experience. I got the Italian wall the other three got the half serious. These were some serious sandwiches! (Pun intended) They smelled great, they were large portions, and they were delicious. They believe the crust resembled a thin crust pizza and it was toasted on both sides. It came with a pickle spear. The chips were also pretty affordable at 85 cents a bag or so. Going to be coming back here real soon with the wife, and I'm going to be fully serious about this sandwich. (Pun intended.)

The place, staff, and food is amazing. i hope this sandwich shop never changes. Ive been going here for 20 years now and they consistent. I would take clients to lunch and they would be amazed at the serious sandwich and how a half would fill you up with this wonderful full range of texture and taste to a sandwich from texas!! Favorite deli in San Antonio. Locally family owned. Always packed for lunch. Italian sub is my go to, but The Serious is their signature sandwich - thing is huge! They have a “Half Serious” if you have commitment issues. Check hours before head out - pretty much a lunch place. If in the neighborhood it is worth checking out. And “Get Serious!”

The Italian sub was so delish I ate it before I could even snap a photo. Their cupcakes are moist and delicious and big enough to share. They have a flow to get the line of customers waited on quickly. Not a big place but it's a great place to meet and have a bite or order for pick up. You definitely will not be disappointed on the sandwich selection. Oh, they have a chef salad too.

The BEST sandwich ANYWHERE. The Serious Sandwich + the hot sauce is my favorite.

This is a small, family owned sub shop where my home health client has eaten for many years. when I arrived to pick up his food, the tantalizing aroma encouraged me to order my own lunch from here as well. Then, when I got to the counter, the gentleman, upon hearing whose food I was there to retrieve, asked after my client's health and the health of his wife, and asked that I give his regards to them. He was so genuinely sweet and concerned for his customer, even thanking me for providing caregiving to them! Oh, and yes, the food was absolutely ahhhhmazing! You cannot go wrong with their tender meatball sub! But watch out for those evil cupcakes and cheesecake in the dessert case! Each one I have tried is better than the last, although I will begrudgingly admit that the carrot cake one is my favorite!

This place is amazing. Highly recommend. Sandwhiches with better flavor and quality than Jasons or McAllisters. They have a trademark that i wont spoil. You will have to stop by and see for yourself. :) :) :)

Always great food. The service is on point every time with sandwiches coming out faster than Jimmy John's. You won't be disappointed with any sandwich you decide to pick her. The Serious is the house specialty which is to die for. Make sure you come in with a big stomach because you're going to walk out full.
